So because we arrived at the airport about 8 hours early, I thought that it would be a good time to write an entry. We are both very excited to start our adventure and can't believe that it is already here! Since I last wrote, we have booked 2 more workaway stays. It turns out that we are going to stay with an Austrian family on their goat farm for about 3 weeks in October. They will teach us how to milk goats and make goat cheese (both of which I plan to become an expert at). Below is a picture of the family that we are staying with. One of the two men in the picture is Gunther. The "u" is pronounced like "ooo"and I find it really fun to say over and over again. Anywhooooo the other picture is of the farm with the Alps in the background. It kind of reminds me of the farm that Heidi (Shirley Temple) stayed at with her uncle (?). Nonetheless, it looks beautiful and I thoroughly plan on channeling the Fraulein Maria inside of me.
After Austria we are making our way to Tuscany to work during the olive harvest. We are staying on a farm called "Il Poderone"with the owner, Bodo Ziefle. He seems really friendly and excited to meet us. A couple of days ago he emailed me to ask if we would mind house sitting in his villa while he takes his olive oil to Germany. I responded with an overly enthusiastic YES! He seems pretty trusting of a person that he has only communicated with via email, but more power to him! We plan on being in Tuscany until around the 20th of December. Below is a picture of the villa and the olive oil that they make.
Well we have 6 more hours in the airport (shrug) but we are both in high spirits! We will write again soon! Au revoir!
